Elizabeth Bathory's Blood Bath

$12.00 USD

2.5 oz / 71 g

While Vlad the Impaler is often credited for inspiring Bram Stoker's Dracula, the idea that blood sustains eternal youth belongs to Elizabeth Bathory. High-born to the royal family of Transylvania, the countess was fabled for her beauty. She is said to have bathed in the blood of virginal girls in order to retain her youthful appearance. Our research took us to Cachtice Castle where the legend of the blood countess lives on in the small villages at its foothills. Here, grandmothers and spa retreats alike remember a traditional folk remedy which curiously calls for"virgin" olive oil, "blood" oranges and other botanicals rich in anti-aging properties found in this bath ritual inspired by Eastern European spa methods with Transylvanian Mountain Salt.™
